High Beam Indicator

Info Only — Urgency 1/5
Can I still drive? — Yes, in most cases

Perfectly safe. Just remember to dip them for other road users. Using high beams on well-lit roads or in fog actually makes visibility worse, not better. This is general information only.

This is general guidance. Your situation may differ — when in doubt, don’t drive.

What does this mean?

This blue light on your dashboard simply tells you that your high beams (full beams) are switched on. High beams give you more light on dark roads, but they can blind other drivers coming towards you.

What should I do right now?

Nothing — this is just an indicator. Remember to dip your headlights (switch back to low beam) when you see oncoming traffic or when driving behind another car. Most cars use a stalk on the left side of the steering column to switch between high and low beams.
