Traction Control (TCS)

No Rush — Urgency 2/5
Can I still drive? — Yes, in most cases

Safe to drive. If the light is flickering, drive more gently — the road is slippery. If the light stays on, be a little more careful with acceleration on wet or loose surfaces since the system may not be helping you. This is general information only.

This is general guidance. Your situation may differ — when in doubt, don’t drive.

What does this mean?

When this light flickers, it means your traction control system is actively working — it has detected that one or more wheels are slipping and is helping you keep grip. This is completely normal on wet, icy, or gravel roads. If the light stays on constantly, it may mean the system has been switched off or there is a fault.

What should I do right now?

If it is flickering, just ease off the accelerator a little — the system is doing its job. If the light stays on constantly, check if you accidentally pressed the traction control off button (often near the gear stick). If it was not turned off manually, have it checked at your next service.
